Study backs operating efficiency of organic sector
A recent study shows that organic production consumes 30 percent less energy (plus eliminates the use of pesticides) but still produces equal yields of corn and soybeans. Of course, the day after I read this article, I read an article that said a study shows that organic production can’t keep up with conventional production, so who knows which is right?
I don’t really know how I feel about the whole organic/synthetic issue. Obviously, in an ideal world, it would be great to have absolutely natural, pure foods. But I would hate to lose access to foods that are, at least, closer to natural and pure because they are no longer allowed to identify themselves as such.
